Alice + Olivia Fall 2020 - Runway Review
February 11, 2020

Staged within a cavernous event space in the Meatpacking District, Stacey Bendet sought to recreate the bold and colorful interiors of her newly-redecorated Manhattan apartment for her Fall 2020 Alice + Olivia collection. Always boho, always feminine glam, always rock glam, the collection mixed the usual assortment of Alice + Olivia favorites: print dresses, monochromatic color blocking, puffed-sleeve tops, graphic tees, chunky knits and vegan leather. As usual, Bendet staged her presentation in charming -- and Instagram friendly -- vignettes.
There were the black-and-white ensembles juxtaposed against rich greenery in a garden setting and, adjacent, a party-like setting with models eating candy and playing cards, claid in baroque-patterned mini dresses and gown paired with metallic gold combat boots. Several models featured crystals scattered in their wavy hairdos. In the back a stage featured looks seemingly pulled from the Italian Renaissance with their gold jacquard prints, graphic artist tees with pearl piercings along the neckline and Michelangelo print maxiskirts modeled around a throne set with pink tapestries and heavy-pile rugs.
