Brandon Maxwell Fall 2018 - Runway Review
February 11, 2018

Brandon Maxwell knows a thing or two about evening wear. The affable designer, who rose to prominence as the stylist to Lady Gaga, draws inspiration from the powerful women who frequently model his shows. Think Gigi and Bella Hadid and BFF Karlie Kloss. With Manhattan's lights as his backdrop, Maxwell's models paraded through the Time Warner Center's Appel Auditorium in the designer's take on casual meets couture. Ascending and descending the multiple staircases, they showcased a pretty terrific vision: a fire engine red embroidered evening skirt with white button-down shirt; a shoulder-robed red shearling bomber jacket; a draped white sequin top (fashion's new tee?) and a black hoodie worn over a fairytale tulle ball skirt.
