Champions for Charity 2017: A Night to Remember
December 5, 2017
Thank you for making Champions for Charity 2017 an overwhelming success!
Over the course of four days from November 30-December 4, Americana Manhasset clients, coupled with the hardworking Personal Shopping team spearheaded by Danielle Merollo, contributed to raising over $1 million for charity. With a generous 25 percent of each pre-tax purchase donated to the shoppers' charity(s) of choice, Champions for Charity brought in a new cumulative record of nearly $13 million over its 21-year inception.
We could not have achieved this without our dedicated and passionate store managers/associates, support team, Personal Shopping/Concierge departments and, most importantly, YOU the shopper!
In the midst of raising funds for over 100 not-for-profit charities, fun and festive entertainment was had by all. On Nov. 30, the revelry kicked off with some form of live entertainment or special holiday program at nearly every boutique. From personal appearances by designers Gilles Mendel of J. Mendel and Anne Fontaine (not to mention Alice + Olivia's Stacey Bendet visit the day prior) and lifestyle blogger Esther Berg at The Shoe Box to a custom Tin Can Studios holiday wreath shop at Burberry to a celebration of dogs with Rescue Paw Foundation at London Jewelers, there was something for everyone at every age!
Crowds of eager shoppers packed into Hermès, Hirshleifers, Brooks Brothers, Salvatore Ferragamo and Bandier to spend generously toward their close-to-heart charities as diverse as Tower Foundation, UJA, The Paul Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Crohn's and Colitis and Chinese American Medical Society.
Other entertainment activities included custom hot stamping at Coach to an #LVGifts photo booth and portraitist at Louis Vuitton to an al fresco dessert bar and selfie booth at Michael Kors. Lynn Gambino also held court at Hirshleifers for a store-wide trunk show of her Lilly Street Fine Jewelry collection.
Thanks to generosity of our clients and first-time visitors, Champions for Charity has solidified itself as a highlight of the holiday shopping season on Long Island. We look forward to December 2018, when Champions for Charity will return for what will surely be another fabulous time to give back and celebrate the holidays.
'Til then, our Americana Manhasset family wishes you and yours a safe and fun-filled holiday season. We'll see you at the center!
