Giorgio Armani Fall 2018 - Runway Review
February 24, 2018

Giorgio Armani's collection for next season's cold weather soon took inspiration from many cultures "as an ode to coexistence as opposed to exclusion." Or, quite simply, "sophisticated simplicity" was the unifying element.
Draped looks and soft jackets defined the primary silhouette, juxtaposed with dramatic furry hats and bold, geometric jewelry. Ponchos were belted, skirts were knotted at the knee and trousers were loose and comfortable. The color palette heated up from the new neutral, pink, with gray to warmer tones of purple, blue and flamingo red, which Armani swirled together for a dreamy, iridescent effect coupled with marabou feathers.
Armani's new power wardrobe consists of separates rather than suits -- a cropped, curved pale pink jacket over a simple tunic and fluid gray pants; or for the extrovert, a hot pink cocoon coat over high-waist back trousers.
For night, the gamut ranged from colorful beaded and fringe jackets with velvet trousers to an athletic-inspired black beaded jumper dress with multicultural fringe and color jacquards. As for the finale, the spotlight was on a single female model that shined like a disco ball in a dazzling crystal embroidered pant suit. Shine on, ladies, shine on.
