Giorgio Armani Fall 2019 - Runway Review
February 23, 2019

Call it Giorgio Armani's rhapsody in blue.
In a coed collection he described as "complementary expressions of the same vision, united through the color blue," the maestro of Italian fashion went beyond the classic suit silhouettes, instead recalling sculpted details reminiscent of roses (witness the front of jackets). Shown under a faux twinkling night sky, with their elongations and plethora of curves, the female silhouettes cut an elegant figure. In fact, the collection contained no daytime looks.
That translated to evening coats with sculpted necks, velvet pantsuits that sparkled and suiting boasting woven ribbon details in the short jackets and pants reminiscent of jodhpurs. Capping things off were belts and handbags with plenty of flourishes to add just the right amount of the volume.
