Giorgio Armani Spring 2019 - Runway Review
September 23, 2018
Giorgio Armani anchored his Spring 2019 collection with a sizzle that left attendees energized at the conclusion of Milan Fashion Week. Billed "The Shape of Color," the soothing collection, aglow with iridescence, had as its foundation a gorgeous shade of silvery grey -- they don't call Armani the silver fox for nothing -- that shined and reflected amidst the pinks and blues in delicate metallics and embroideries. This airy collection move beautifully, playing with light in unexpected, linear ways.
This spring collection was wardrobe diversity at its best: an athletic reference in the form of a luxe anorak; classic relaxed jackets worn over pants and a shimmery sequence of dream-like dresses (standouts included a cocktail number with a large 3-D flower on the bodice and a long, sheer white shirtdress sprinkled with paillettes). Those served as the appetizer for the main course: gloriously embroidered gowns and a showstopper backless jumpsuit with a plunging neckline.
