Max Mara Spring 2018 - Runway Review
September 21, 2017

Fashion is really taking the adage that "what goes around, comes around" to hear for spring. At Max Mara, that air of nostalgia was evident with the urban edge-themed collection creative director Ian Griffiths sent down the runway -- ripe with purposeful references to Helmut Lang (the man as designer).
Softened ever just so, there was a real '80s power suit vibe with the cool, minimalist pantsuits. They made for a lovely uniform... their parallel-cut trousers, boyish tailored jackets, masculine cotton tanks, many paired with a Crombie-style overcoat and a dash of red lipstick. To wit, a fabulous look came in the form of a signature camel coat and slim pants paired with a utilitarian cross-body bag boasting a "new" logo that was a rejuvenation of an old one dating back to 1958.
