The Row Spring 2019 - Runway Review
September 9, 2018
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's calm and collected aesthetic for The Row has always serves as a welcome beacon for cool. Devoid of distractions with little to no fanfare, models showcased the looks not out of place in an art gallery -- beautifully art-directed in a manner that allows the ethereal designs to speak for themselves. Quiet. Intimate. Spring 2019 had the designers exploring the fluid language of silk juxtaposed with rich, luxurious textures like tweed and cashmere. In a palette that ranged from ivory to sand to charcoal to black, the garments were exceptional: a gorgeous creamy white tweedy coat with frayed edges was fantastic, as were the slip-on coats, robe-like gowns and billowing layered gazar dresses. Fast-fashion this is absolutely not.
