Americana Manhasset Celebrates 30 Years of Giving with Record-Breaking Results!
December 18, 2025
Americana Manhasset marked a defining milestone this holiday season as its signature shopping benefit, Champions for Charity®, celebrated 30 years of giving with record-breaking results. From Thursday, December 4 through Saturday, December 6, the annual event raised a remarkable $1.8 million in a single year, the highest total in the program’s history…a powerful testament to what happens when a community believes in the power of giving.
Through the three-day event, 25% of every charity-driven full-price, pre-tax purchase at participating stores was donated to the not-for-profit organization(s) of shoppers’ choice by using their very own Champion Number. More than 70 participating stores came together to support 100+ not-for-profit organizations. These causes include healthcare, medical research, food insecurity, youth programs, mental health services, animal welfare, and cultural institutions.
“Champions for Charity is more than a fundraising event,” said Dr. Virginia Maurer, Founder of the Maurer Foundation, an organization dedicated to educating young adults about breast cancer. “It has allowed our community to come together in support of breast health education. It's truly, truly, a celebration of generosity, partnership and a shared commitment. The donations [from Champions for Charity] have had a tremendous impact on our breast health education programs.”
For many participating organizations, Champions for Charity® plays a critical role in funding programs that create tangible, lasting change at the local level.
“Champions for Charity is extremely important to the Tower Foundation of Manhasset,” said Christina Pullo Daloia, Executive Board Member of the Tower Foundation of Manhasset. “Champions is one of our biggest and most fun events of the year. The funds have impacted so many initiatives, most recently we upgraded the entire security system and visitor management system as the secondary school in Manhasset, we have updated the broadcast journalism program, we have done future ready classrooms, we have provided chromebooks to so many students, we have done so many things over the years.”
Since its inception in 1996, Champions for Charity® has raised more than $23 million, including over $13.5 million in the last decade alone.
“Our 30th anniversary affirms our enduring commitment to philanthropy,” said Catherine Castagna, President of Castagna Realty Co., Inc., parent company of Americana Manhasset. “Raising a record $1.8 million in a single year is proof of what’s possible when our community, retail partners, and charitable organizations come together with generosity and purpose.”
Stores brought holiday magic to life through immersive in-store experiences including bespoke flower bars, artisanal treats, live music, and exclusive customizations, creating a festive shopping atmosphere rooted in meaning and connection.
“Champions for Charity demonstrates the power of people participating together to make a lasting impact.” said Deirdre Costa Major, President of Castagna Realty Retail Group. “We’re grateful to our brands, charitable organizations, and shoppers for reaching this milestone.”
