October 29, 2026
Hermès is delighted to announce the opening of its newly renovated store at Americana Manhasset in northwestern Long Island on October 29, 2026. Inspired by the Golden Age of the 1930s, the reconfigured Gold Coast store showcases the house’s sixteen métiers across a space that captures
Manhasset Bay’s gardens and homes in a single contemporary interior.Ribbed arches define the street-facing façade in seamless symmetry, with gentle curves and generous windows drawing natural light into the double-height, single-level store. Molded from pale brick, striking curves evoke the undulating contours and colors that capture the essence of the Nassau County neighborhood shoreline.
Inside, tall ceilings and bright areas create an open and welcoming atmosphere, giving the store a homelike feel. Guests are greeted by the house’s emblematic ex-libris and Faubourg mosaic flooring, accentuated by Grecques lighting, leading into the silk universe, fashion jewelry, and perfume and beauty areas. To the right, the intimate space for jewelry and watches is swathed in botanical green tones, while to the left, the men’s universe features walnut cabinetry and arch motifs.
The spacious setting wraps around a central rotunda with a generous skylight. Evoking the style and craftsmanship of a villa, this circular space houses the home collection against a backdrop of radiant ivory limestone. The leather goods and equestrian collections are located on the right, enclosed by sleek cherrywood marquetry walls in a chevron pattern, while on the left, women’s ready-to-wear and shoes are set within a verdant palette of greens, punctuated by the reinterpreted chaîne d’ancre motifs, echoing Hermès’ distinctive pattern. Unique carpets inspired by the coves of the coastal landscape and geometric stucco wall details create a bright and inviting setting. Envisioned by Parisian architecture agency RDAI, the store’s design immerses visitors in a harmonious space representing nature and heritage, using locally sourced materials and designed furniture with carefully
chosen details. A curated selection of artworks from the Émile Hermès Collection and Hermès Collection of Contemporary Photographs echoes the house’s creative vision while recalling the distinctive atmosphere of Long Island’s Gold Coast. Works include Henri Cartier-Bresson’s Bal de la Reine Charlotte, a photographic depiction of a refined social gathering, and a series of paintings by British artist Romy Elliott, which adds a contemporary and personal perspective to the narrative with depictions of dogs and horses.
